There were a total of nearly 162 candidates, of which five nominees were selected by the program committee in each category.
Nomination:
A composer and a singer, an extraordinary artistic personality. Her achievements in the field of contemporary music have been one of the focal points of present-day Polish culture for many years. Her music and outstanding vocal creations have greatly contributed to the promotion of Polish music abroad. Her composition Not I was the selected work (i.e. won the grand prix) of the 60th International Rostrum of Composers in Prague (2013), and in 2014 earned her the prestigious “Polonica Nova” Wrocław Music Prize. In the spring of 2014, it was released under the prestigious Austrian label KAIROS on the artist’s original album Not I. The premiere of another piece by Agata Zubel, IN, met with an enthusiastic reception in Hanover in October 2013.
